I’m Captain Ricky Poupore, and when the federal Red Snapper season opens in the Atlantic, anglers from all over head to St. Augustine, Florida looking for the chance to hook into one of the most powerful and delicious bottom fish in the ocean. These trips are some of the most action-packed days we run all year.
Departing from Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor aboard our 31’ Contender, Rock Bottom, we’ll head offshore into the Atlantic to target quality Red Snapper on wrecks, ledges, reefs, and live bottom areas off Northeast Florida.
Offshore Red Snapper Trips from St. Augustine
Our 6-hour, 8-hour, and extended offshore charters are ideal for targeting Red Snapper depending on the season, weather, and bite conditions.
6-Hour Snapper Trip will get you far enough to catch those fighting red snapper. Even with only being able to keep 1 per person, it is sure to be a fun time.
For those that want a little variety make it an 8-hour trip and incorporate trolling for King Mackerel! This is some of the BEST summertime fishing Florida has to offer.
But for those of you that want an ALL-Day Snapper Experience, the 11-hour Snapper trip is for you. We will not only target the Red Snapper but also Mangrove Snapper.

What to Expect on a Red Snapper Charter
Red Snapper fishing is hands-on and action-packed. Once we’re set up over productive bottom, anglers drop baited rigs down and wait for that unmistakable bite.
Typical tactics include:
- Bottom fishing with live or cut bait
- Heavy tackle setups for deepwater structure
- Drift fishing and anchored fishing depending on conditions
- Targeting mixed species while hunting keeper Snapper
