Northeast Florida Fishing Report for Week of July 28, 2022

Jul 29, 2022 | Fishing Reports

Hey guys! Welcome to this week’s Northeast Florida Fishing Report. I’m Captain Ricky Poupore with SeaCo fishing charters and this is the week of July 28th. This week the bait was really easy to catch. It’s the same as last week; scattered pogies to the north some pogies to the south

a few tarpon rolling in the pogy pods but not anything like it should be this time of year

This week has been all about king mackerels. The cobia didn’t come like I expected them to. It actually was dead for cobia this whole week. I didn’t catch one. There was one sailfish caught, some very big king mackerel caught with the kingfish tournament going on in jacksonville this weekend and a couple of local captains or one local captain caught a really nice 43 and a half pound king mackerel… I saw it on the dock this week

the weather this week was the fair to rough that we were able to fish every day this week. I’m fishing on a 31 foot boat so it was fishable but, not good all week. It was kind of rough. no telling what’s going to go on next week. We have the storms brewing over there off of Africa in the Atlantic basin coming this way so we’ll have to keep an eye on the weather all week. I expect multiple changes with the forecast throughout the week

That’s this week’s fishing report. I’m Captain Ricky Poupore. we’ll see you out there on the water
